Burns and Plastic Surgery
The Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery at Binzhou Medical University Hospital was founded in 1988, which is one of the earliest Burns and Plastic specialized departments in Shandong province. It is a clinical key discipline of Shandong province, a standardization training base for residents. Owing to the co-efforts of generation by generation through three decades, it has developed into a clinical discipline with 35 beds. The annual volume of outpatient and emergency visits has exceeded 6,000 person-times, discharged patients 600 person-times. It has now become the largest burns-plastic- cosmetic treatment center in northern Shandong, and also the severely burned patients’ treatment center. And a cooperative workstation with Academician Xia Zhaofan is also under construction.
There are 9 doctors, 20 nurses in this department. All of the 9 doctors have achieved master’s degrees, among whom there is 1 professor, 6 attending physicians and 2 residents. As a provincially renowned department, our main treatment programs include the following respects:
1. Burn, Acute and Critical Care Program: We provide comprehensive care for patients with critical and acute burn injury, electric injury, chemical injury and radiation injury. We have advanced instruments and facilities, and treat several large-area burns successfully every year.
2. Refractory wounds, the skin defect or damage caused by trauma, complex surgical infection (including tetanus, tuberculous ulcer, nocardia infarctions). We have introduced new technologies such as VAC and VSD.
3. Treatment of scar is a cosmopolitan medicine problem. We are well experienced in the treatment of hypertrophic scar, keloid, cicatricial contracture, and hyperpigmentation. We offer innovative reconstruction techniques to improve appearance and function after burn injuries.
4. Plastic and Cosmetic: malformation, breast augmentation, breastlift, nose surgery (rhinoplasty), liposuction,eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), cleft lip and palate, facelift, necklift, otoplasty and tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).
5. Benign and malignant skin tumors, giant congenital nevi, hemangioma and vascular malformation.
