October 18, 2018the Nameplate Unveiling Ceremony of Sino-Canada Medical Technology Collaborating Hospital Was Held at BMUH. BMUH hereafter became a formal member of Bethune Medical Development Association of Canada (BMDAC), which indicates both sides will carry out a series of closer academic exchanges and cooperations in medicine including selecting BMUH medical professionals to receive technological training in Canada, sending scholars to each other for exchange and jointly conducting clinical research and organizing international conference, etc.
Dr. Lee Errett, President of BMDAC, Dr. James Swan, a cardiologist, Mr. David Crook, a donator to BMDAC, and Ms. Xiaoyun Yu , a CCU nurse , Mr. Jinggang Zhao, Party Secretary of BMUH, Mr. Jianmin Li, President of BMUH, Mr. Qingmin Fang, Deputy Party Secretary of BMUH and some representative directors attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Mr. Jinggang Zhao extended his sincere welcome to the Canadian medical experts. He also expressed gratitude over the supports and assistance given by BMDAC to BMUH. He pointed out that BMDAC experts ’visits and guidance has played an important role in promoting BMUH’s disciplinary growth. He wished both parties would deepen technological exchange, share experience and discuss intractable cases so as to learn from each other and get a codevelopment. Mr. Qingmin Fang briefly introduced Binzhou City and BMUH to the guests. President Lee Errett and his colleagues thought highly of BMUH’s effective and practical work. He wished to gain mutual disciplinary development and clinical expertise through exchange and cooperation.
After the meeting, President Lee Errett and Mr Jinggang Zhao unveiled the nameplate of Sino-Canada Medical Technology Collaborating Hospital. BMUH held a guest professor appointment ceremony for Lee Errett, James Swan, David Crook, and Xiaoyun Yu.
In the department of Cardiology, James Swan visited the ward, CCU, ultrasound examination lab and catheterization lab, guided Dr. Huipu Xu, chief of Cardiology and his staff to conduct a cardiac ultrasound examination for a heart failure patient. After that, James made a presentation entitled Interesting 3-D, 2-D echo and contrast ultrasound cases. Both sides also discussed some intractable cases.
In the department of Cardiac Surgery, Lee Errett and Chief Yujiu Wang discussed the operation choices for some patients. Lee also made two presentations entitled Evolution of Surgery for Heart Failure and The Story of Norman Bethune.
