Emergency
The Emergency Department of Binzhou Medical University Hospital was established in 1989. Our goal is to achieve true excellence as one of the illustrious centers in patient care, teaching and research in the field of Emergency Medicine. We provide emergency services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for almost all emergency patients, except stomatological, obstetric and gynecologic patients, and pediatric patients, with a visiting volume of over 8000 per year. Besides, we undertake the education and training of emergency medicine residents and medical students.
Our department is a young and energetic team, and 90% of them are under 45 years of age, with a total of 27 physicians and 63 nurses. We strive to deliver compassionate, prompt and efficient care to people coming to us for urgent medical care.
We have further strengthened our competitiveness through the establishment of seven subspecialties: respiratory, cardiovascular, neurovascular, trauma, toxicity, severe infection and disaster medicine. Innovation in clinical care will be accomplished by providing translation of our clinical and basic research accomplishments directly into patient care.
Our Department is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies for performing advanced medical procedures including non-invasive and invasive ventilation, bedside dialysis, bedside ultrasound, bedside bronchoscopy and PICCO monitor.
Our department covers a floor area of more than 1,400 square meters and is divided into five main areas: pre-hospital area, observation room, rescue room, emergency ward and emergency intensive care unit (EICU). Based on the severity of their conditions, patients will be sent to the appropriate location. Our observation room contains 8 beds and 12 chairs for intravenous therapy, observation and diagnosis. Both rescue room (3 beds) and EICU (7 beds) are equipped with advanced medical apparatus and life support technologies.
Our department is a diagnostic, educational and research center for emergency medicine in the Yellow River Delta. We have been awarded multiple national and provincial research grants. The staff have published close to 100 academic articles and edited more than 10 books. We have achieved recognition for our achievements in the medical field and have been invited to host many academic conferences. We have been granted the national facilities to grant master’s degree in Emergency Medicine, and have continued to attract scholars from afar to our programs.
