Established in 1992, with the efforts of several generations, the Gastroenterology Department of Binzhou Medical University Hospital (BMUH) has become the center of medical care, teaching, research and training of digestive system disease in the Yellow River Delta, as well as a national clinical medicine trial base. Our department was granted the clinical key specialty of Shandong province in2013.At present, the Gastroenterology Department consists of three sub-departments, including Gastroenterology Department I, Gastroenterology Department II and Digestive Endoscopy Center. It is currently staffed with 24 doctors and 58 nurses, among whom there are 3 professors and 6 associate professors. 3 members of its staff have achieved doctoral degrees, 19 have achieved master’s degrees.

 

As one of the key disciplines of digestive diseases in Shandong province, our department specializes in diagnosing and treating various intensive or complicated digestive system diseases, such as gastrointestinal disease, chronic liver disease, Gastroenterology biliary disease, pancreatic disease, etc.

 

Digestive Endoscopy Center owns excellent medical and technical staff as well as exquisite instruments. It is one of the best endoscopy centers in the Yellow River Delta with modern facilities and effective treatment. Apart from regular diagnosis and treatment programs, our department carries out painless gastroscopy, painless enteroscopy, ERCP, ESD, EMR, variceal injection of tissue glue or sclerosing agent and loop ligature, capsule endoscopy ultrasonic endoscopy, single balloon endoscopy, Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy and so on, which largely promotes the level of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment in the Yellow River Delta.

Our department has always attached great importance to research. We have focused on the research of gastrointestinal cancer and intestinal mucosa barrier. Up to now, our clinicians have undertaken more than ten research projects, which are supported by Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province and other varied foundations.
