Dr. Ding Guojian, member of the 26th Chinese Medical Team to Tanzania and Associate Chief Surgeon of Pediatric Surgery Department of BMUH, successfully completed the two-year medical aid mission and returned with honor in January 2024. 

A warm welcome ceremony was hold on January 23rd. Dr. Ding shared his experience in Tanzania, he worked hard to overcome all kinds of adverse conditions such as backward living conditions, missing his family at home, especially the poor local medical environment during the global COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, Ding Guojian carried out pediatric laparoscopic surgery in Tanzania which filled a number of technical gaps and expanded the influence of Chinese doctors in Tanzania. His medical team won the title ‘Advance Group of National Medical Aid Work’.
