At the invitation of Mr. Mohamed Janabi, Executive Director of Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), Tanzania, Mr. Li Jianmin, President of BMUH, led his delegation to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for visit and exchange activities from April 17 to 21, 2023. 

At the welcoming ceremony, entrusted by President Mohamed Janabi, Ms. Jessie Mbwambo warmly welcomed the arrival of the visiting delegation. She said the cooperation between the two sides would improve the surgical technology level and service efficiency of MNH. Mr. Li Jianmin introduced the development history, core technology, teaching and research, discipline construction and international exchanges of BMUH. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the two hospitals, agreeing to strengthen exchanges in personnel training, academic exchanges, remote consultation and other aspects; BMUH donated some medical equipment to MNH.

During the exchange, experts visit the Operating Room and wards to carry out case discussion, teaching ward-round, and technical guidance. The staff of MNH were deeply impressed by the experts’ professional ability and rigorous approach. MNH made reports on the visiting delegation through Twitter, TV and other Medias.

 

This visit marks the beginning of BMUH to take the initiative to practice the concept of human health community and actively explore its participation in international public health governance. It has consolidated the traditional friendship between China and Tanzania in the medical field and explored new areas of cooperation.
