The Clinical Laboratory of Binzhou Medical University Hospital (BMUH) was founded in 1977. Through ongoing efforts, the Clinical Laboratory has achieved rapid development, grown into a comprehensive medical laboratory with clinic, teaching and scientific research well integrated.

 

The Clinical Laboratory has a high-quality team. It consists of 62 members, including 6 associate professors. Most of its staff are under 45 years.

 

The Clinical Laboratory is divided into 5 professional parts. They are Basic Clinical Laboratory, Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory, Clinical Immunological Laboratory, Clinical Microbiological Laboratory and Labeled Immune Laboratory. The Clinical Laboratory possesses more than 100 items of advanced equipment introduced from different countries, including USA, Japan, France, Germany, etc. The total assets exceed 20 million RMB. The equipment includes Beckman Kurt AU5421 Automatic Biochemical Analyzer, Beckman Kurt AU2700 Automatic Biochemical Analyzer, Beckman Kurt AU5821 Automatic Biochemical Analyzer, SYSMEX UF1000i Urine Sediment Analyzer, SYSMEX UF500i Urine Sediment Analyzer, SYSMEX XE5000 Hematology Analyzer, SYSMEX XN Hematology Analyzer, Cobas e601 Electrochemical Luminescence Analyzer, SYSMEX CA7000 Coagulation Analyzer, SYSMEX CS5100 Coagulation Analyzer, STAGO Coagulation Analyzer, SIEMENS WALKAWAY96PLUS Microbial Identification And Drug Sensitivity Analyzer, BioMerieux Automated Blood Culture System, BD9120 Automated Blood Culture System, etc. The laboratory carries out almost 300 routine tests and multiple characteristic tests. In addition, a few new testing items are launched every year. Our annual specimen detection quantity is close to 2 million copies. These tests cover the most extensive clinical hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology and detection of the immune system. Therefore, our testing can be a comprehensive analysis of human physiological and biochemical metabolism and the body’s immune system. 

 

At present, the routine tests of the Clinical Laboratory report three times a day. Emergency tests are done immediately. In order to ensure accurate and reliable detection, our department has established a series of strict rules and regulations to manage each step before, during and after the analysis until the results are given. We not only ensure the control of the quality inside the Lab, but also actively participate in the inter-lab quality control with other labs in the city. So we get excellent performance in this area, and have become a leading laboratory of quality control for years.

 

The Clinical Laboratory undertakes theoretical and practicing courses of laboratory diagnostics for laboratory medicine majors. The Lab also receives interns and advanced trainees from other hospitals. 

 

In recent years, the Clinical Laboratory has participated in about 10 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation and published a number of monographs and research papers.
