Neurology
Founded in 1977, the Department of Neurology is a key discipline of scientific research, teaching and clinical research in Binzhou Medical University Hospital. Our outstanding clinical staff includes 43 doctors and 57 nurses, among whom there are 8 professors and 6 associate professors, 4 with Doctor’s degrees, 26 with Master’s degrees and 9 with overseas experience.
The department has 150 beds in 3 wards, clinic, neurological function examination room and laboratory, and is well equipped with advanced medical instruments like EMG, Vedio-EEG, VEP, SEP, BAEP, Rounting TCD, TCD foaming test, DSA, Electronystagmogram, Transcranial magnetic stimulation and well trained technicians. The dominant discipline orientations in the department are cerebrovascular diseases, headaches, spinal cord disease, dementia, epilepsy, neuromyopathies and neuroimmunology, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, etc.
The department serves about 80,000 outpatients and 4,000 inpatients annually. Besides, the department is the most influential re-education base in the Yellow River Delta, and trains hundreds of undergraduates, postgraduates and neurologists each year. It is not only responsible for the training of medical students at Binzhou Medical University but also provides extensive educational and training programs for students and doctors receiving in-service training in neurology. Currently more than 20 master students are being trained at our department.
In recent years, our department has been supported by over 10 grants from government, university and hospital. In addition, we have published more than 100 papers.
