Difficult Case Consultation and Academic Exchange

 

20 to 21 October, Dr. Dominique Shum-Tim, Dr. Yupu Deng and Mr. Eric Laliberte from Bethune Medical Development Association of Canada (BMDAC) paid a visit to BMUH, all of whom are well- established surgical specialists. 

 

20 October morning, Professor Jianmin Li, President of BMUH, met the experts and extended a warm welcome speech. After that, President Li issued letters of guest professor to each of them. On behalf of the delegation, Dr. Dominique Shum-Tim expressed his gratitude over BMUH’s hospitable reception and wished to promote bilateral clinical skills and research through exchange and cooperation.

 

During the 2- day visit, Dr. Dominique Shum-Tim, Dr. Yupu Deng and Mr. Eric Laliberte delivered lectures on New Advances in ECMO, Study of Pulmonary Artery Hypertension and Neuro Monitoring during CPB respectively. Under the guidance of Canadian experts, cardiac surgeons of BMUH successfully conducted a mitral valve replacement surgery. They also discussed some difficult cases with each other. Both parties agreed that they benefited a lot from the discussion. 

 

Both parties are satisfied with the exchange, and they both agree to further and strengthen the cooperation in the future.
